Getting Started With Web Savvy Marketing
You might be wondering what happens when you submit an inquiry into our firm. That’s a fair question and we’d like to help provide some insight on how we work and how we investigate future projects. Below is a timeline of general communication through the sales and quoting process as well as a little insight into project management and post launch activity.
1. Initial Inquiry Received
Generally a prospective client will hear about us via a referral or find us via a Google search. After a review of our website and online presence, we typically receive an inquiry via our website and/or email. We do our best to reply to all written inquiries within 24 hours on business days. Any weekend inquiries will be responded to on the following Monday.
2. Response to Inquiry
Our initial written response will include a number of questions and we do this so we can get a quick baseline for you and your project. This allows us to determine if we are a preliminary fit and can potentially serve as your technology partner.
3. Discovery Call
Once we validate we are an initial fit, we like to schedule a live conversation so can discuss a prospective client’s project goals, objectives, and known requirements. We’ll ask a lot of questions at this time and we do so because we want to help make your project a success. While on the call, we’re happy to answer any and all questions you may have about us, our work, and our process. Live conversations can be held via phone, Skype, or GotoMeeting so we can screen share.
4. Formal Proposal
After our live conversation we generally have enough information to prepare a formal proposal for more basic projects. For more complex projects, we’ll have a number of live conversations and email exchanges before reaching the proposal stage. Our goal is to set expectations for both parties so there are no surprises within the actual project execution.
5. Contract & Payment
Once the proposal has been reviewed and accepted, we proceed to a contract signature and payment. Payment can be made via company check, credit card, wire transfer, or PayPal.
6. Project Set Up
Every project has a structured project plan set up in Basecamp that is shared between WSM staff and our clients. Projects include to do lists, calendars, and file storage.
7a. Design & Development
Website design and development projects have a dedicated project manager assigned to manage the day to day activities, lead communication, and keep everyone on-task and on-time. Weekly projects calls are encouraged and all notes are recorded within the Basecamp project so all team members have access to notes and conversations.
7b. SEO
SEO projects will utilize Basecamp, however these are generally managed directly by Rebecca. Rebecca works one-on-one with all SEO clients so the communicate is tight and SEO education free flowing.
8. Post Project Support
All website design and SEO projects offer ongoing support, maintenance, and training. We believe ongoing support is a privilege and not a right, so continued support is optional for all projects.
