Paid search is typically part of most marketer’s online marketing campaigns, although the level of usage will vary drastically by industry and company.  Paid search can include pay-per-click advertising or PPC such as Google Adwords, banner advertising, or directory listings.  Paid search can be used to jump start a new website or as a complimentary tool to help target long tail keywords.

Regardless or the methodology, a paid search program must include a clear call to action, a customer landing page, and most important, ongoing management and optimization.
