Internet Addiction Disorder has Official Recovery Program

Seriously? Yes there is a disorder called Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD) that now has an official recovery program available from a company called reSTART. The company’s website lists nine signs of Internet addiction and offers a twelve step program for recovery.

Located in Washington state, this rehab program for techoholics offers a 45 day program in tranquil settings and blah blah blah. Okay here I what I find really funny – it is located near Redmond (Microsoft headqurters), the company has a social networking site, is on Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace. Doesn’t that kind of encourage those with Internet addition to be constantly on the Internet?

As an Internet marketer and blogger, I don’t even know where to take this blog post. It all seems so strange and something out of a April fools day hoax.
